Photoshoot with Amanda B and Taryn

Today I had the pleasure of taking some pictures of my best friend Amanda and her daugther Taryn. Taryn's fourth birthday is this weekend!
These pictures are not perfect, but I'm still learning. Shooting indoors is not my strong point, so I was happy that Amanda agreed to be my guinea pig for the day.
I LOVE this picture of Taryn. I'm bummed that I chopped her arms though!
The color isn't too good in this one, and her bow is completely blown, but I like her cheesy grin, SO Taryn

Taryn loves her cow, so we had to get him in the pictures. Blew out the side of her face and her hair in this one. Still working on light placement.

More not so great color. But this look cracked me up!

I decided these work better in B&W.

I need to get these on my desktop so I can photoshop out the wild hairs on both of them.
But I love this pose!

Funky head chop crop because I was trying to hurry and get Taryn smiling and Amanda's desk was showing right behind her.

I told Amanda this is her "I want you" look.

This one came out pretty good if I do say so myself. I don't know if the crop works or not since I chopped part of her arm.

Yeah, I chopped her necklace in this one...does it look weird like that?

This one reminds me of a yearbook photo LOL

This is my FAVORITE. I love how this one came out!

My black and white conversions need help....bad. But I did the editing of these using an old version of iPhoto.

Doesn't she look great?!

Green chair wasn't working for me today :(

Again need to fix the crazy hairs...

Major arm choppage :-/

What I've learned from this shoot:
  1. Almost 4 year olds are hard to shoot.
  2. I need to work a lot more on my lighting when there isn't much natural light
  3. I prefer outdoor shoots
  4. I'm not so great at posing, I like the fun natural pictures a lot more.
  5. I need to get my tripod fixed and get a remote.
  6. My shutter speed was too slow, and my exposure was way off.
  7. Pay more attention to the histogram.
  8. I need to pay more attention to limb chopping when shooting indoors, I don't have this problem outdoors because I'm actually paying attention to composition. Today I was paying more attention to my settings and still didn't get those right ::eyeroll::

Thanks Amanda and Taryn for letting me play! Hope you like these pictures!
